Return & Refund Policy

Aioby is a marketplace platform connecting buyers with independent local businesses. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and disputes are handled for transactions made through the platform. Individual store policies may vary โ€” always check the store's own return policy before purchasing.

1. Marketplace Nature

Aioby operates as a marketplace connecting buyers with independent sellers and businesses. Aioby itself does not sell products or services directly. Each store on Aioby is independently operated, and the seller is responsible for fulfilling orders, managing returns, and issuing refunds.

When you purchase from a store on Aioby, you are entering into a transaction with that store, not with Aioby Inc. Aioby's role is to facilitate the connection and provide the platform infrastructure.

2. Return Eligibility

Returns may be accepted under the following general conditions:

  • The item received is significantly different from the listing description
  • The item arrived damaged or defective
  • The item was not delivered within the agreed timeframe
  • The service was not rendered as described
  • The seller explicitly offers a return policy in their store

Returns are not accepted for:

  • Change of mind (unless the seller's own policy allows it)
  • Perishable goods (food, flowers, custom-made items)
  • Digital products or services already rendered
  • Items explicitly marked as non-returnable in the listing

3. How to Request a Return

To request a return or refund, follow these steps:

  1. Contact the store directly via the Aioby messaging system within 7 days of receiving your order
  2. Describe the issue clearly and include photos if the item is damaged or incorrect
  3. The store will respond within 48 hours with instructions
  4. If approved, return the item in its original condition and packaging
  5. Refund will be processed within 5โ€“10 business days of the store receiving the return

If the seller is unresponsive or disputes your claim, you may escalate to Aioby support at hello@aioby.com.

Refunds for cash-on-delivery orders are issued via bank transfer or store credit at the seller's discretion. Refunds for card payments are returned to the original payment method.

5. Digital Products & Services

Bookings, service appointments, and digital items are generally non-refundable once rendered. Exceptions apply if:

  • The service was not delivered at the agreed time or location
  • The service quality was substantially below what was described
  • The booking was cancelled by the business with less than 24 hours' notice

For cancellations made by the customer, refund eligibility depends on the individual store's cancellation policy and how much notice was given.

6. Dispute Resolution

If you cannot resolve a dispute directly with the seller within 5 business days, contact Aioby support:

Aioby will review the transaction history, messages, and evidence provided by both parties. Our decision in disputes is final and binding. We may, at our discretion, issue platform credits or facilitate refunds for verified cases of seller misconduct or fraud.

7. Seller Responsibilities

All stores listed on Aioby agree to:

  • Accurately describe all products and services in their listings
  • Honour the return policy displayed in their store profile
  • Respond to buyer messages within 48 hours
  • Issue refunds promptly for valid return requests
  • Not misrepresent product quality, origin, or specifications

Sellers who repeatedly fail to honour returns or who engage in fraudulent activity will have their store suspended or permanently removed from the platform.

8. Shipping & Return Costs

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the return is due to seller error (wrong item, damaged goods, or significantly not as described). In those cases, the seller is expected to cover return shipping or arrange collection.

For international returns between UAE and India, customs duties and taxes on the returned item are the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed with the seller.

9. Subscription Refunds

Aioby Standard and Premium subscription fees are charged monthly and are non-refundable once the billing period has started. You may cancel your subscription at any time โ€” your plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact hello@aioby.com within 7 days of the charge.

10. Governing Law

This Return & Refund Policy is governed by the laws of India. For transactions involving UAE-based sellers or buyers, UAE Consumer Protection Law No. 15 of 2020 may also apply. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through our internal process may be escalated to the relevant consumer protection authority in your jurisdiction.
